The Heavens Reflect Our Labor
In conjunction with Metal-Urge Fulcrum Gallery presents

The Heavens Reflect Our Labor, a group exhibition, features four Northwest artists working in metal: Molly Epstein, Chris McMullen, Joseph Miller, Mick Newham and James Porter.

June 4 – July 12

Opening Reception Thursday June 4, 6-10 pm

Each of the artists employ metal’s myriad versatile properties and historical relevance in distinctive ways. The exhibition will include Molly Epstein’s work exploring the collision of art, human biology and surgical practices and devices; Chris McMullen’s interactive; industrial, kinetic sculptures; Joseph Miller’s forged and fabricated work; Mick Newham’s Dogon ladders and wall-mounted, relief-cut sculptures; and James Porter’s bronze castings and free-standing and wall-mounted relief sculptures.

The Heavens Reflect Our Labor synergizes these forged visions, acknowledges metalwork’s history of industrial significance and celebrates the innovation and ingenuity of Northwest metal arts.

Sensibilia Invisibilia
Perceptions by Meghan Elissa Hartwig & Kristin Giordano

July 16 – August 23

Opening Reception: Thursday July 16, 6 – 10pm
Artist Talk / Fulcrum Social: Sunday August 2, 6pm

These two artists both apply their visual methods to explicate our universe.

Meghan is inspired by human behavior: the absurdities, ironies, and desires, and the drive to create and destroy. Her work culminates as assembled ceramic sculptures acknowledging both discord and balance.

Kristin’s photographs contemplate perceptions of space, volume and place. Using unconventional cameras, she explores the boundaries between real and imagined landscapes. She is currently working on documenting modernization and the Arabian Gulf.
